At first glance, those that have a few of Patagonia's best layers may notice that the jackets material, construction, and feel is not dissimilar to if you sewed a Houdini onto the coveted Micro Puff. Believe me, this is not an insult. Two of our favorite layers by Patagonia, now married together to create a single weather resistant, insulating piece for many outdoor adventures. For those belays and breaks where you know it's going to be windy and cold it's hard to beat a layer like this. Similarly, while ascending ice routes in colder temperatures, this would make a great layer to keep you warm through your swings while keeping water and wind out. The possibilities are endless with a layer like the DAS Light.
Some of the standout features of this jacket include a napoleon pocket, raised handwarmer pockets for use with a harness, a bottom up zipper, elastic wrists for quick adjustability, and elastic on the helmet compatible hood for a snug fit that grabs on quickly when pulling it on and off. There is even more synching capability on the hood when you have the time to get a more tailored fit, and the front zipper can be zipped all the way over your mouth for added insulation and protection from the wind. All 11.3oz pack down into one of the pockets for storage.
The DAS Light will become a staple of your alpine travels. From camp to peak and from ice walls to slopes, you'll be happy to have this versatile layer in your pack when the time comes.
